Training is an essential part of any heating technician's career. Before you can register as part of the OFTEC competent persons scheme you need to be able to demonstrate that you have the right skills and knowledge to be able to carry out your work to a high standard and according to your local building regulations. Once registered, you also need to refresh your knowledge by passing the relevant assessments for your scope(s) of registration every five years. This is to ensure that you keep your skills up to date with changing regulations. 

OFTEC works with over 90 training centres across the UK and ROI who offer the OFTEC liquid or solid fuel courses - many of these centres also offer gas and renewable courses. Our useful online training centre finder will help you find a training provider offering all the courses / assessments you need.
